You use the word “truc” when you briefly forget the word for something far more complex. It could roughly be translated as ‘thing.’

Unfortunately that’s not it - don’t think I’ve read that one yet. :-/ (But I’m making my way through long fics these days!) I remember it ending in a way that Maura felt like she would find comfort/love/happiness with Jane (because she loved her much more) despite the fact that her bf/fiancé was murdered.
I think it might have also been revenge for one of Jane’s previous cases? Or maybe it was one of Maura’s?
That’s probably a little too ambiguous…

I’m looking for a fanfic that I read sometime back (could be weeks, could be months. I don’t even know at this point because I read them so prolifically!!).
In it, there’s a serial killer (not Hoyt) on the loose. Maura is in a relationship with (or maybe engaged to) some guy, but at some point toward the end of the story, she cheats on him with Jane (and at some point there’s also some slightly dirty talk on the phone).
If I remember correctly, Maura plans to break things off with the guy, but the serial killer murders him (for some reason that I can’t quite remember) before she does. (Note, I could be remembering this incorrectly…as I said, I read fanfic like it’s my only job. haha)
And that’s about all I remember.
